St Joesph's Juniors benefit from FoNR
When a request from Scott Penn of St Joesph's rugby club in Newport came to Friends of Newport Rugby we were only too glad to be able to help. St Joesph's is one of a number of junior clubs within our area that are seeing an increase in the number of youngsters playing the game and so need to be able to generate sufficient income to keep the teams kitted out and fully equipped. FoNR were only too pleased to be able to supply a range of sizes of ball to suit all of the different ages groups in the club. The youngsters then came along to a Newport RFC training session at Rodney Parade where Newport players Will Evans and Aaron Bidgood, along with FoNR's Mike Frost handed over the balls much to the delight of all of the lads present. FoNR does a huge amount of good work with community clubs in the Newport area as well as with Newport RFC and we would encourage anyone with an interest in rugby in Newport to join our number. Likewise, if you have a child who wants to play rugby, St Josephs would be a great place to go. Kev Jarvis |
