Trust Sponsored Team On Parade
This season the Trust awarded sponsorship to Newport HSOB U15, making their most generous payout to date to a local junior team. The team were kitted out in new playing jerseys all displaying the Trust logo when they visited Rodney Parade for the Newport, Pontypool derby. Before the match, the boys were joined by Newport's Mike Poole and Jamie Tibbs, both on the injured list, but fit enough to run the boys through a few drills. The Trust Committee are keen on encouraging the next generation of players to keep playing as well as linking up with our senior players. The boys also were treated to tickets, compliments of Rodney Parade Ltd, to see the match. This turned out to be a thrilling derby where Newport only eased away from their old rivals in the dying moments of the game to chalk up another victory over the boys from the Eastern Valley.
