St Julians HSOB Presentation Awards Our sponsored team this season were St Julians High School Old Boys Under 10 RFC. The Trust provided funding towards playing kit to help relieve the expense usually imposed on parents and volunteers. St Julians have only been running mini and junior teams for two seasons but have encouraged some sixty boys and girls to come and play rugby. This is great news for us as the more youngsters playing now mean more talent to come through in the future. Yet again Newport RFC Supporters have been able to show their committment to player development in this way. The chairman Andy Lee has made sure each team is coached by at least two qualified persons and the club has a real buzz about it with parents all helping out together. The Trust Committee are grateful to Newport lock Alex Jones who gave up his Friday evening to come and hand out the awards to the young players. We also provided a special trophy for the U10 Player of the Season which was awarded to ten year old Evan Morgan. We look forward to inviting 'The Saints' back down to Rodney Parade next season to watch Newport play. Nick Jackson. FoNR Community Rep' |
