Community

As part of the activities of the Friends of Newport Rugby our activities are designed  to forge a stronger link between Newport Rugby Club and the community in general. In this way we hope to provide benefits to both the club and the community.

We are working in conjunction with Newport Rugby's current community projects, schools, local junior rugby teams and the general public to achieve our aim of supporting rugby in Newport. In the long term we hope to also encourage a stadium community involving the people who live in the immediate vicinity of Rodney parade, and the club itself.

It is essential to us that the activities of the Friends of Newport Rugby are carried out without prejudice of gender, nationality, age, ethnic group, or physical ability.

To date we have provided sponsorship to several age grade rugby teams in the Newport area and have given local children the opportunity to see rugby at Rodney Parade with the compliments of Newport RFC.  We also provide a mascot for every home game. Please see the news page for details of our ongoing activities. We are inviting the input of anybody that has any ideas for activities or would like to get involved and would ask those people to contact us through the link to the Community Representative on this website.
